Selecting the right developer and the ratio of mixing the colour cream with colour developer for various colouring techniques
The selection of the right developer for the combination with the Subrina Spectra colour depends of the selected colour techniques.
The technique of classic colouring (for reaching the new look of your hair or coverage of grey) allows for the following lightening levels according to the selected developer:
- 3% developer for colouration in the same tone or darker,
- 6% developer for lightening for 1 to 2 tones,
- 9% developer for lightening for 2 to 3 tones,
- 12% developer for lightening for 3 to 4 tones.
The ratio of mixing between the colour and the colour developer is 1: 1.
(e.g. 60 ml of colour + 60 ml of developer)
With the lightening technique with the special blonde shades you can choose between the two variations of the developer:
- 9% for lightening for 3 to 4 tones,
- 12% for lightening for 4 to 5 tones.
With this technique you mix the colour and developer in the ratio 1: 2.
(e.g. 60 ml of colour + 120 ml of developer)
The technique of soft colouring requires the 3% developer. You can not lighten the hair with this method of using the Subrina Spectra colours. This technique can be used for:
- refreshing your colour on dyed hair.
The ratio of mixing with this technique is 1: 2.
(e.g. 60 ml of colour + 120 ml of developer)
General advice on how to dye properly
- Read and follow the instructions for use. (You need to take this time :) )
- Perform a skin allergy test 48 hours before each use of hair colour. (You can have an allergic reaction to the colour you already used before.)
- Consider your natural hair colour and the percentage of grey hair when selecting a suitable nuance. (Use a colour chart.)
- When dyeing, please note the instructions concerning the time of application of the colour cream. (This is the only way to achieve the desired result).
- Apply enough amount of the colour mix to your hair. (Hair you miss will not be dyed.)
- Allow for at least one week between a permanent weaving and hair dyeing. (Otherwise the effect of the colour is too intense and the hair colour is uneven).
- Do not use the Subrina Spectra colours, if your hair was dyed with henna or metal-based colours.
- During dyeing do not use the metal accessories and remove all metal objects from your hair. (Colours oxidise otherwise.)
- You cannot lighten dyed hair: a colour does not lighten another colour. If you want to be lighter, you can start by gradually dying your roots to a lighter tone. The other method is bleaching your hair with the Gele Blanc agent. (Changing your hair colour to a lighter tone requires time or bleaching.)
- The Special Blond shades ARE NEVER APPROPRIATE for using on grey hair. Due to the matting pigments in these colours, the grey hair may have unwanted green, purple or blue reflections. You also cannot use them on porous, bleached or previously lightened hair. (Attention, attention.)
- If your hair was already dyed blonde or your tips might be porous or damaged, carefully apply the mix with these shades to the roots only. (Try using milder, demi-permanent shades.)
- The optimal coverage of grey hair is possible only with the natural blond shades up to the depth of 08 Light Blond.
- If you have a lot of grey hair and a darker natural hair colour, the results in using the fashionable shades are lighter on grey hair.
- Use the colour mix immediately. Do not store the remains. Prevent unnecessary contact with skin and do not eat or inhale the product.

Skin allergy test:
Use alcohol to clean 1 square centimetres of skin behind the ear. Apply a small amount of the colour mixture prepared according to the instructions to that area, and leave applied for 30 minutes. Should you, after 24 hours, notice any changes on that part of the skin (blushing, swelling, itching), we recommend you not use the colour cream. If during dyeing or in the days following the dyeing you experience any unusual reaction (stinging, a burning sensation, dizziness, swelling of the eyes/face) rinse immediately, seek immediate medical attention and contact the manufacturer.
